Great Western Reroute

Perhaps our favorite event of the year, the Great Western Reroute is an extended mixed surface riff on the Great Western Loop. The GWL is a storied route that got it's name years ago from a road race that had as its title sponsor Great Western Savings & Loan. This route has a lot of the same paved stretches as the GWL but departs widely via some sweet gravel and dirt.

This dirt road ascent is 9.5 miles long and gains about 4000 feet – from about 700′ to about 4700′ with the finish in a turn-out near Mother’s restaurant for a total of approx. 12.3 miles. Starts will likely be in 30 second intervals starting at 8:00 am.

Back to Rouleur!

We had such a good time at our last visit to Rouleur that we decided to go back! For our March 11 event the best Sunday Gravel Ride in North County returns to Rouleur Brewing Company. We will be meeting at 8:45 for a 9AM departure from 5840 El Camino Real, Suite 101. Don't expect the route to be published ahead of time, that's not how we roll. Every ride is unique as we explore new trails and have an adventure! Stick around after to enjoy a pint with friends or take a Crowler to go.

We're stoked to continue this series of gravel rides in San Diego, exploring our finest gravel paths, singletrack and fire roads North County has to offer. Rides typically range from 30-40 miles with 3000-4000 feet of elevation, moderate pace with plenty of regroups. For these events we are excited to Partner with SDMBA, our very own Trail Advocacy Association here in San Diego County.
