Shakeout by the Shore: Your unofficial warmup for the madness of BWR California, where legs spin easy, but minds plot Sunday’s chaos. Held on Thursday, April 24, 2025, this Gravelstoke classic is back with a refreshed twist for Del Mar’s unroad fanatics.
Casual on the surface? Sure—until you realize it’s the perfect sneak peek at the pain train ahead. Nervous chatter, gravel whispers, and a splash of banter are all part of the recipe. Skip it, and you may as well hand over your purple card now.
This year, we’re rolling out from Glen Park in Cardiff by the Sea, then return to The Lost Abbey Confessional where post-ride brews await all sinners and sandbaggers. We’ll trace the shoreline, explore secret dirt paths, and “pretend” it’s just a fun little spin—while really scoping the competition and perfecting our Sunday excuses.
Expect chilled vibes, frothy Lost Abbey ales, and legs that spin… until they don’t. Spoiler: this is no ordinary shakeout. Join us and be spared.
