Gravelstoke is deploying a series of strategic scouting parties ahead of the 9th annual Great Western Reroute on May 16, and the first mission launches this weekend. For Advance Mission 1, we're taking a slightly different approach: no official group ride, just an open segment challenge running across both Saturday and Sunday so you can get out when it works for you. The mission itself is a 45-mile standalone adventure into the southern sectors of the GWR course, built to prepare your mind and machine for what's coming. Expect the full terrain cocktail: premium gravel, rhythmic pavement connectors, and technical singletrack that demands your full attention. A few wild surprises are still being held in reserve for event day.

Suggested start time: Sunday, March 22 8:30AM (this is not a guided group ride but go at this time if you want to ride with others)

Segment Challenge
The Viejas Grade is one of the defining features of this year's GWR course, and on March 21-22 you can put yourself on the early leaderboard. We will be running a timed segment challenge on Viejas: From the start of the dirt to the top, the same segment used in the official race on May 16. To be eligible, join the Strava event and complete the segment this weekend. The fastest male and fastest female rider on the day each win a pair of Gravelstoke Merino Wool Socks.
