Gravel Adventure Field Guide for Patagonia AZ

In case you haven’t seen the pocket-sized Gravel Adventure Field Guide yet you’re in for a treat. Juan DelaRoca, editor-in-chief, reached out to me a couple of weeks ago to connect on his tour of the southwest and southern California to share his publication’s latest release. Their second field guide captures stories, routes, and local beta in the up-and-coming gravel community of Patagonia, Arizona. These little guides are extremely well done, with the first one being published last year for Trinidad-Las Animas County in Colorado.

Flip the pages for a clean and colorful experience, with creative artwork inspired by the region. Several gravel routes are featured throughout the book, with clearly marked road surfaces and distances marked. For GPS routes the GAFG team partnered with People For Bikes, where readers can access electronic versions via handy QR codes on the pages throughout the book. The Field Guide reads like a mini-magazine with local stories, suggested places to visit, and the occasional advertisement.

To get your own Patagonia Gravel Adventure Field Guide, you can visit select bike shops across Southern CA and Arizona. Juan was keen to drop off books at some of the more adventure-minded bike shops in San Diego, so we recommended he visit Lost Cyclery, Adams Ave Bicycles, and Velotown. We placed a few in a basket on our retail wall at Velotown in Leucadia, and they will be available there while supplies last.

We also acquired an extra box of Patagonia Gravel Adventure Field Guides to distribute as a perk for Gravelstoke Development Team members. If you are a current-year member, stay tuned for details on how to pick one up or get one shipped to you. Future books are in the works for Bend, OR and Pueblo County, CO.
