We're thrilled to announce that a generous supporter has donated an entry to the 2025 Great Western Reroute for a rider under 23 years old! This is an incredible opportunity for a young gravel enthusiast to participate in one of Southern California's premier gravel adventures.

ABOUT THE GREAT WESTERN REROUTE

The 2025 Great Western Reroute will be the most epic edition yet of this storied event that began in 2018. Taking place in East County San Diego's Cleveland National Forest, this challenging 70-mile journey features approximately 7,500 feet of elevation gain across varied terrain including pavement, smooth dirt, washboard, sand, and rocky sections. New this year, we are also offering a 45-mile route for those looking to ease their way into the ultimate gravel adventure.

Starting and finishing at Mike Hess Brewing in Alpine, CA, this self-supported adventure is limited to just 100 participants, making this donated entry particularly valuable. The route will take you through some of the most spectacular backcountry terrain in Southern California, offering unforgettable views and a true test of your gravel riding skills.

WHO SHOULD APPLY

We're looking for a passionate rider under 22 years of age who:

• Has experience with challenging gravel terrain

• Can be self-sufficient and prepared for a demanding backcountry route

• Is available to participate in the event (May 17, 2025)

• Has appropriate equipment (gravel or mountain bike with at least 38mm tires recommended)

Applications will be reviewed by the Gravelstoke team. The selected rider will be notified by email and announced on our social media channels.
