First Look - New Tubolito Gravel Tubes

Our favorite inner tube company, Austria-based Tubolito, today launches a redesigned gravel tube called the Tubo-CX/Gravel All. Tubolito provided me with two of these tubes ahead of the launch to offer my first impressions, and it’s all good. The new model offers precisely what the modern-day gravel cyclist needs in one product… well actually two. A lightweight version of the tube was also announced today, called the S-Tubo-CX/Gravel All, weighing just 35 grams. And while the name itself is not quite the most buttoned-up package, the product certainly is.

The new regular Gravel Tubo (as I like to call it) now offers compatibility across both 650b and 700c setups, for tires anywhere between 30mm to 47mm in width. That’s right, you can bring this spare tube on a 650b gravel ride, with no need to exchange it for another spare tube when swapping over to a 700c x 30c setup. And while I haven’t tested the fit across all tire sizes, Tubolito promises compatibility up to 700c x 47mm.

The standard Tubo-CX/Gravel All weighs roughly 60 grams and is a compact little thing that opens up lots of storage inside my Outer Shell Mini Saddlebag. In the past, for 650b setups, I always carried a Tubolito MTB 27.5 Tubo, even though it was slightly larger and heavier than necessary for 650b x 47mm applications. The appropriate size here is definitely an advantage. The Gravel Tubo is a claimed 2x stronger than standard tubes, and repairs can easily be done with a matching Patch Kit sold separately.
