It was a perfect day in Carlsbad, California for the 2nd annual Hunt of the North. Riders gathered early at the CANYON Bicycles USA headquarters in the heart of coastal North County San Diego on Sunday June 9, 2019. The event was not your typical gravel event, and not a race in the traditional sense.

We have partnered with our friends at The Confessional, Lost Abbey's tasting room in Cardiff by the Sea, to bring you weekly gravel rides this Fall. Join us as we explore some of the finest gravel and beer San Diego has to offer!
It was back in January we began the process of creating our very first kit design with our friends at Eliel Cycling, something that was far more difficult than we anticipated. We wanted a clean look, something with a modern flavor but classic appeal. Originally we wanted to have it ready for our friends by early April for a local mixed-surface event, but the delays in design keep us from that target. The kits wouldn't be ready until late May, and with no event on the calendar to show them at we decided to create our own.
We've created a special event for our friends here in North County and beyond, a hunt that takes gravelers to 5 predetermined locations on dirt throughout the North.
We spent some time in the SoCal Cyclist studio yesterday talking gravel and the recent Belgian Waffle Ride. Tons to discuss with Brian Co and he brings in a ton of awesome interviews. You’ll hear from the winners of the BWR Brian McCullough and Larissa Conners, Ted King, Ryan Steers, Tom Danielson, Michael Marckx and more! Click the link below and have a listen!
You know how it seems like "Christmas time" comes around sooner each year? Stores start selling decorations and Black Friday ads start popping up way too soon. Well this year the Belgian Waffle Ride (BWR) couldn't come soon enough.
By now you've probably heard of the Grinduro, a unique cycling event in Quincy, California which combines elements of your average gravel grinder with enduro-style mountain bike racing. Sounds amazing right? Well it just so happens that our friends at BadSea Coffee attended the event back in 2016, and ever since dreamt of bringing such awesomeness back home to Southern California. Well.. it happened!
