Rain Check on Pie (in the Sky)
Pie in the Sky - Postponed to March 15th!
Mother Nature had other plans. After a week of rain and saturated conditions, we're postponing Pie in the Sky to Sunday, March 15th to protect the sensitive trails on our intended course. The Strava, Ride With GPS, and main event pages have all been updated to reflect the new date. We'll gather when it's sunny and dry.
Here's why this matters: San Diego soils aren't like the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Our terrain needs proper time to dry out after rain, and riding wet trails causes damage that can last months, sometimes years. The good news? We're fortunate to enjoy over 330 days a year of riding, so we can afford to be patient when it does get wet.
Some basic trail stewardship reminders:
If you can see your tracks, turn back. Those ruts may last until summer.
Don't skid. Use your brakes wisely.
Ride through puddles, not around them (unless it's a vernal pool).
A general rule is to give most trails at least 48 hours after any significant rain to dry out.

See you in Ramona on March 15th!
