Repent or relent, the Shakeout by the Shore returns as your unofficial warmup for the madness of BWR California. Marking our 5th anniversary since the inaugural Shakeout in the Hills back in 2021, we've evolved from four years in San Elijo to a fresh coastal rebrand following BWR's move to Del Mar. Where legs spin easy but minds plot Sunday's chaos, this Gravelstoke classic is back on Thursday, April 24, 2025, with a refreshed twist for Del Mar's unroad fanatics. Casual on the surface? Sure—until you realize it's the perfect sneak peek at the pain train ahead.

This year, we're rolling out from Glen Park in Cardiff by the Sea, then returning to The Lost Abbey Confessional where post-ride brews await all sinners and sandbaggers alike. We'll trace the shoreline, explore secret dirt paths, and "pretend" it's just a fun little spin—while really scoping the competition and perfecting our Sunday excuses. Arrive at Glen Park by 5:45 PM for a 6 PM roll-out, finishing between 7:30-8 PM before the gathering at The Confessional until dark.

Expect chilled vibes, frothy Lost Abbey ales, and legs that spin... until they don't. Bring your drop bar bike with tires 40mm and up, ride completely self-sufficient with repair gear. Spoiler: this is no ordinary shakeout.
