Velocio Off-Road Equipment Top Picks For Gravel

Earlier this month Velocio officially announced a spin-off brand that would compliment their road-focused apparel line. Known as Velocio Off-Road Equipment, the new collection will feature MTB and gravel-friendly pieces. Velocio however is no stranger to creating great pieces for cyclists who prefer dirt, as we have enjoyed several of their pieces in the Trail collection in years past for gravel and MTB. In fact, some of our favorite pieces seem to have made their way to the new Off-Road Equipment line, including the Delta Trail Long Sleeve and Ultralight Trail Short. We’ve always appreciated Velocio’s attention to detail, durable offerings, and minimal branding, and it seems the same ethos caries over to this new MTB lineup.

With the creation of the new MTB collection, Velocio replaced their traditional tricolor flag label with an Off Road Equipment specific woven label that will be applied to every product within the line. The bright “blaze” gold-yellow is a nice touch, and the new squared-off “ci” emblem will also make its way on all new pieces. Three subcategories include Access (maximum durability), Ultralight (minimal weight), and Trail (most versatile).

If you’re looking to try a few pieces from Velocio Off-Road Equipment, here are our top picks:

Ultralight TRAIL Hooded Jacket | Price: $189

Velocio makes an outstanding lightweight jacket for cycling, and this ORE edition Trail Hooded Jacket is no exception. Made from windproof and water-resistant Pertex Quantum Air fabric, this jacket will maintain high-output breathability without sacrificing protection from the elements. PFC and PFA Free DWR treatment. The Velocio Ultralight Trail Hooded Jacket is available in Moonrock (shown below), Fire Red, and Charcoal.

Delta TRAIL Long Sleeve | Price: $99

Originally featured as our top pick for gravel gear in 2019, the Velocio Delta Trail Long Sleeve continues to perform as one of our favorite pieces for gravel and MTB. The blended recycled polyester paired with Tencel yarns makes for moisture management and durability that’s second to none. Available in long and short sleeve, we love the long-sleeve version for extra protection from branches and a blistering sun. It stays surprisingly cool even on hot days, and holds up after years of abuse. The Off Road Equipment Delta Trail is available in Black, Rust, Lilac and Moonrock

Ultralight TRAIL Short | Price: $159

We’ve tried several over-the-bib shorts, and nothing quite compares to this Ultralight option from Velocio. It’s minimal, not too warm, and features the perfect amount of stretch that you don’t even know it’s there. Trust us, if you’re looking for a good gravel or MTB short, this is the one you want! The Velocio Ultralight Trail Short is available in Black, Light Olive, Black Cherry, and Charcoal.

Arcade x Velocio Ridge Belt | Price: $35

Good news! All Off-Road Equipment pants and shorts include a matching Arcade Belt. Although we’ve never tried an Arcade belt, the brand has a good reputation and the Arcade x Velocio comes in some great looking colors. Knowns as durable, stretchy, lightweight, and infinitely adjustable, it’s great to see Velocio throw one in with every bottom. The new collaboration Ridge belt is available in 4 colors.
