Stagecoach 400 Film - Episode 3
Episode 3 of the Stagecoach 400 Documentary Series drops riders into the desert, where the energy of the Grand Depart has faded and the reality of the route begins to take hold.
The terrain shifts. Trail dissolves into sand. Progress slows. Small mistakes in pacing, hydration, and nutrition begin to surface, and the ride becomes as psychological as it is physical.
Out here, the desert strips everything down.
Fatigue builds. Focus drifts. Riders push forward through a landscape that feels increasingly remote and indifferent. Eating becomes difficult. Drinking becomes inconsistent. Thoughts stop lining up. The desert starts to play tricks. Shapes move. Sounds shift. Reality softens at the edges.
And still, they keep moving.
Attention turns to something ahead, the Iron Door.
A bar in the middle of nowhere. A place to sit, to regroup, to feel human again, or something more.
After 300+ miles, it becomes a fixation. A reason to keep moving.
