Mosaic GT-X Gravel Bike & Denali Highway Film
The Denali Highway is often referred to as one of the loneliest roads in America. It first opened in the 1950s as the original access road to the Denali National Park. As the park has developed its own newer paved road, the Denali Highway now serves as seasonal access to BLM land for outdoor enthusiasts, and it connects the two small Alaskan towns of Cantwell and Paxson. Our ride into the wilderness would be a two-day out and back, covering roughly 120 miles per day, and we planned to stay a night on either end. The road rolls along tundra and is largely above treeline, which in Alaska is right around 4,000 feet above sea level.
More than just an excuse for an epic summer vacation, this adventure had a practical purpose in mind - a proper shakedown ride for Mosaic’s new adventure platform, the GT-X. In an environment as remote and unforgiving as Alaska has a reputation for being, having the right gear is absolutely crucial, and the GT-X was the perfect tool for the job.
