The ENVE Adventure Fork Takes Gravel To New Levels

Today ENVE officially announced their all-new, full-carbon Adventure Fork. This fork is the result of a collaboration between ENVE and their custom frame builder partners to provide the right features and geometry for adventure-oriented gravel and bikepacking frames. The Adventure Fork features a three-pack of accessory mounts on each fork leg, axle flip-chips for ride tuning, and internal dynamo routing for lights and electronics charging.

We chatted with Thomas Callahan, founder and framebuilder at Horse Cycles in New York, who sees the new fork as a great option for those on the adventure and bikepacking side of the gravel spectrum. “The Anything Mounts are an awesome feature, especially if your not doing speed gravel or even 50/50 road to gravel riding. And with the flip-chip, you can essentially adjust the bike’s trail, allowing for better control and maneuverability while under load” said Thomas, who built this stainless steel Monster Gravel bike for a recent customer.

Like all ENVE forks, the Adventure Fork is molded in one-piece from the steerer-tube to the drop-outs. This construction, made popular by ENVE over a decade ago, continues to deliver a lightweight product that is also extremely reliable and strong – features that are invaluable to the weight conscious bikepacker and gravel adventurer. The Adventure Fork weighs in at 575 grams.

We asked the team at Moots how the new Adventure Fork may have inspired the design of the latest edition of the Routt 45. Here was their reply:

I’d almost say it’s the other way around….our designs and features on our Routt 45 have shaped and directed some current component developments as gravel bikes have evolved. As we moved towards offering more features to the frame the fork was next to follow. Multiple bottle locations, fender mounts as stock, better geometry. Not many people will use those added features every day, but they are there when needed.

The build of the Enve fork is within our axle to crown and offset range, so it really does work out well. Enve is a super partner for us as they see the evolution and where things are headed.

The integrated dynamo routing allows for both light and electronics charging capabilities. Like ENVE’s mountain forks, the Adventure fork features clever flip-chips that allow the fork geometry to be tuned for different head tube angles and wheel sizes. The two rakes achieved by the flip-chip system are 49mm and 55.5mm. In the 49mm position, the axle-to-crown measurement is 398mm while the 55.5mm rake delivers a 406mm axle-to-crown measurement.
