Redshift Arclight Pedals Pros & Cons

After initially being available only through pre-order, the Redshift Sports Arclight Smart LED Bicycle Pedals are now shipping and available at Redshift’s website for $140 USD. After testing these pedals for a few weeks on our family e-bike, the increased visibility in low light to nighttime is better than any light we’ve ever tested. And while we won’t be using these on our gravel bike any time soon, they are an outstanding product from the innovative brand based out of Philadelphia, PA.

The Arclight Pedal is made from ADC12 aluminum with a high strength steel axle and sealed bearings. The light module is made from durable ABS plastic and Li-ion batteries. The set of 2 pedals weight 610g, while each light module weights 30g. For run-time, Redshift claims that the Eco Flash mode will run 36+ hrs, while the Flash and Steady modes will run 11+ hrs and 3+ hrs respectively. Charge-Time is 2hrs for a full charge using the included USB hub. The Arclight Pedals should be compatibility with most bikes as they use a standard 9/16” pedal thread.

Key Product Highlights We Love

Auto Red/White Intelligence SmartSet sensors dynamically change the LED color depending on orientation, so white is always facing forward, and red is always facing rear.

Auto On/Off The lights automatically turn on when they sense motion, and automatically turn off when they sense the bike is parked.

Biomotion Motion associated with the natural movement of the human body has been shown to increases visibility by up to 57% compared to standard front/rear lights.

360 Illumination Four lights cast 360 of light around the rider, creating visibility from any angle.

Light Modes & Battery 3 different light modes allow for a battery life up to 36hrs. Each light module has a built in male USB prong for easy charging.

Modular Mounting System The light modules are removable and interchangeable with Redshift’s Multi-Mount to allow for additional mounting locations on the bicycle.

Weatherproof The pedal is made from solid aluminum and uses high quality sealed bearings. The light modules are dust and water resistant to work reliably in all conditions.
